RTB Collective

RTB stands for reason to be, and is essentially a translation of the French phrase, "raison d'être." Commodifying music has always been a tricky path to tread on top of. Music largely made me who I am today and without it, I might not be here. Many of the other musicians in RTB feel the same way.

 

After over a decade in Seattle striving to bring the best music possible to the stage most nights of the week, I've noticed that there is a stark divide between the passionate concerts played for listeners and the typically soulless event/corporate music scene. I see RTB as the answer to this; a way to bring true soul to typically soulless corporate/event music settings. RTB is a collective comprised of expert musicians and friends united by a shared love, passion, and respect for the music they play that stretches to the core of each musician’s identity, not just musicians who show up for the sake of making a buck. The collective’s areas of expertise are centered in (but not limited to) the music of the American jazz lineage.

Instrumentation and group composition are customized to best fit the needs of the event/venue, but never at the expense of quality or musical integrity.
